Condon to bring the climax for the Twilight saga - Breaking Dawn

Two days back we reported about Kristin Stewart to debut her B-Town carrier with Hrithik Roshan in Paani, today we would like to reveal another interesting news regarding Twilight saga! Bill Condon has been announced as the director of the Twilight saga - Breaking Dawn, the final movie of the Twilight series. Summit Entertainment finalized earlier this week who would be honored with directing the film.

"I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life onscreen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience." - Condon claimed in his statement

Condon is the director of Dreamgirls, starring Beyonce, and wrote and directed Kinsey. The director also wrote the screenplay for the musical, Chicago. Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, is excited that Condon will be directing the film, and looks forward to seeing what he does with the movie.

"I know they're working on scripts, potentially breaking the last one into two movies, and wish it to be in 3D" says Kellan Lutz. Breaking Dawn will star Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristin Stewart as Bella.

Few weeks back Opera released there iPhone version of Opera Mini, And now they have Opera 10.52 web browser for Mac OS X systems. Uninor launches GPRS Services in India

Uninor has launched GPRS service for its pre-paid subscribers in its nine circles - UP, Uttaranchal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The company also have launched a limited period free trial offer for Internet browsing which expires on May 6.

After the limited trial period, data services will be available through a base plan with following tariff of 10p per 10KB.

Prepared and shot by the students of Jain Universtiy, Bangalore are ones who are pursuing BBM. The short film is directed by Debutant Director Masoud Mohamed is starred by Shreyas N Shastry and Ida Yoana.

Made as a part of a competition at IIT Bombay got many accolades including the Special Jury Award at Avtar International Film Festival 2010 hosted by School of Communication, Dr. G.R. Damodaran College of Science, Coimbatore. And also have been featured on a German blog - krisenzeit!

Chennai Super Kings the DLF IPL 2010 Champions

Team Chennai complete a fabulous win to beat Mumbai by 22 runs and register their name as the 2010 champions for the Indian T20 tournament. It was a challenging target of 169 set by Chennai. Mumbai started off slowly and never really picked up the pace to stay at par with the required rate which kept on mounting. Their plan to revolve batsmen around Tendulkar (48) worked to some extent but Nayar (27) at the top couldn't get going. Pollard (27 off 10) was kept for too long in the dug-out but he still made an effort with his big hitting and gave Chennai a scare. But it was Dhoni's cool captaincy that brought the wicket of the big man and it was game over for Mumbai after that.Chennai will be really proud of their bowling attack as they defended a total of 169 against a good looking Mumbai side who were on a high. Muralidaran (2/26) was the pick of the bowlers and received good support from Bollinger, Ashwin, Morkel and Jakati.

Suresh Raina got the maximum sixes award and was also the Man of the Match for this finale, playing a crucial hand in the first innings.

Andrew Symonds got an award for taking 12 catches in the tournament. Pragyan Ojha collected the award on his behalf. Saurabh Tiwary bagged the award for the best under-23 player of the tournament.

Chennai skipper MS Dhoni collected the fairplay award on his team's behalf. Sachin Tendulkar ended as the top run-getter for the tournament while Pragyan Ojha ended as the leading wicket-taker. Both received their awards. Sachin Tendulkar was also chosen as the golden player of the tournament (Man of the Series) for which he collected a trophy.

Sachin Tendulkar received the runners-up cheque. He felt that those dropped catches early on did not help and it was one of those tough days for him. Nevertheless, he thanked the crowd for always supporting their side, his young team who played well, support staff and everybody else. Towards the end, he congratulated Chennai for playing well today and did mention that he is most likely to play next year.

MS Dhoni gave credit to the team owners and support staff for their efforts as they bounced back after a low in the middle of the tournament. In today's game, he said they were able to create that pressure and hence got the wickets towards the end. That fielding change to send back Pollard was tried by the Indian skipper before the tournament in a warm-up game and it worked for them today.

Team Chennai, in all smiles and enthusiasm, collected their winner's trophy as fireworks lightened up the background.

New Pune IPL franchise named 'Sahara Pune Warriors'

Finally it's been named. Sahara India Pariwar announced the name of their IPL team, Sahara Pune Warriors, at a grand function — befitting the entertainment quotient of the T20 extravaganza.

The unveiling of the Pune team for the next IPL season was a grand affair, with over 50,000 attending the naming ceremony at SP College Ground, belying fears that the IPL controversy will cast a shadow on the event.

The theme of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was weaved in nicely throughout the 90-minute gala. The stage was like a fort. Moraya Moraya was followed by Dev Malhari. One of the comperes was Mahesh Manjrekar, the maker of popular movie ‘Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy’ and other Bollywood actor Urmila Matondkar. Subrata Roy was presented with a sword. What really thrilled the crowd was the team logo which has a Maratha warrior on a horse with the spear. Though IPL is getting a lot of negative publicity, the response to this event which was open to the public was indicative of the positive energy.

Sahara Adventure Sports Group had won the Pune franchise for a whopping $370 million. They bid for three cities - Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Pune and later chose Pune as their base.

Sunanda Pushkar, whose links with Shashi Tharoor and IPL Kochi triggered a big controversy, admitted she has helped the franchise to raise a lot of money but denied acting as his proxy in getting sweat equity worth Rs. 70 crore. She termed as insulting accusation that she was acting as a proxy for Tharoor.

Can't I make my own money? He has not been corrupt for so many years for which I am proud to be his friend-why would he be corrupt now? Sunanda, 48, said she had met Tharoor two years back through a friend Sunny Varkey, and "we got along immediately". "We are certainly close now, but that closeness only developed less than five months ago. I am very proud to know him because, most of all, he is good and honest man," she said in an interview to ''Tehelka'' magazine. Tharoor was forced to resign as Minister of State for External Affairs amid allegations that he had misused his official position to get Sunanda the equity in IPL Kochi, a charge denied by him.

Sunanda said her decision to give up the equity was not for Tharoor as was being made out. She said she gave it up as she has no enthusiasm to work on it anymore. Sunanda said she was bewildered by the allegations of corruption."I did agree to offer my skills as a marketing consultant. I have a knack for it. I also helped them Kochi IPL raise a lot of money. But there's been absolutely no exchange of money between us. It's more like a promissory note with absolutely no guarantee that the shares will amount to anything.

Pushkar, who is based in Dubai, blasted the media for turning her into a "slut" and a "brainless eye candy". She likened the media spotlight to a medieval witch hunt. She also added up that, "I'm proud of bringing up my son (Shivy) by myself".

Facebook unveiled a box of new tools

Mark Zuckerberg this Wednesday unveiled a box of new tools that he says would extend the Facebook's social networking phenomenon to every corner of the Internet. The announcement came at a conference for Facebook developers called F8, in which Zuckerberg revealed that the world’s largest social networking site has 400 million registered users. These include 100 million who use Facebook Connect, the company's online identity technology that allows users to use their profile on thousands of other websites.

A month ago, Facebook surpassed Google to become the most-visited US website, and the new tools announced by Zuckerberg should help it extend that dominance, called Open Graph, a new technology that helps in transformative thing on web. This technology will allow partner sites to leverage the user's social connections to make the site more relevant to the individual and their social network.

For example, a Facebook users who visit CNN can see the stories their Facebook friends liked. If they listen to the music streaming service Pandora, the songs they like can automatically be fed to their networks. This feature includes a "like button" that partner sites can embed and which will allow Facebook users to rate the content. He predicted that in the first 24 hours of the technology going live the new buttons would be used over 1 billion times.

The seeds for the removal of Shashi Tharoor by the Congress were sown much before his eventual and formal dismissal by the Prime Minister. The first step towards the application of the sword was taken by the Congress President Sonia Gandhi in the composition of the two-man team which was to go into Tharoor’s role in the Kochi-IPL affair.

The duo found that Tharoor had transgressed, if not the rules, the spirit of the propriety he was to demonstrate as a Union Minister. He was also perceived to have committed the cardinal sin of mixing politics, cricket and women (nay woman).

Sources said that Antony was very uncomfortable with the issue of Tharoor's dalliance with Sunanda Pushkar and Mukherjee, in turn, was miffed about the way the sweat equity was tailored in favour of Pushkar, which did not seem above board.

The only formality was to get a nod from 10 Janpath. And Sonia Gandhi did not want to give the crucial nod too soon because it was Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who had picked up Tharoor for a career in politics. Hence, she wanted the PM to take make the formal announcement. Moreover, it is the PM's prerogative on who he keeps in the Union council of ministers.

Singh, unlike Sonia, gave a patient hearing to Tharoor. While Sonia dismissed the minister in 20 minutes, the Prime Minister lent his ears for over an hour. But by then Singh and Tharoor had no options because the signals from Sonia Gandhi's office were loud and clear.

The only thing that the PM did was to inform Sonia that Tharoor had submitted his resignation. Accept it and forward it to the President, Sonia said and Tharoor's fate was formally sealed.

But why did the Congress take such a stand? Here are five reasons:

NOT OUR BABY

The Congress felt that they were defending a weak case. After all, the IPL was not its baby and by defending Shashi Tharoor it would be indirectly defending the IPL which is already mired in controversies. So, why give ammunition for the Opposition which was already fired up over the Tharoor issue. The Tharoor IPL `volcano' was already spewing enough ash threatening to cloud Parliament's proceedings. Hence, the Congress was keen to take the wind away from the Opposition's sails.

The Core Group of the Congress was understood to have concluded that Tharoor's argument that he had nothing to do Pushkar getting free equity in Rendezvous Sports World Ltd was untenable.

Top decision makers of the party were said to have been of the view that the party's and the government's image could not be risked to defend an individual's interest. Besides, the Opposition parties, which already planned to bring cut motions on the Finance Bill, were unrelenting in their demand for the minister's sacking and were set to use Tharoor's case to further embarrass the government in the remaining part of the Budget session.

The government was also not inclined to antagonise the opposition further given that it needs their support for contentious legislations like the Women's Reservation Bill and Civil Nuclear Liability Bill.

AN IDEAL SACRFICIAL GOAT

Tharoor is hardly a political heavyweight. He neither has a support base in his Thiruvananthapuram constituency nor does he have enough clout in Delhi. Sacrificing Tharoor would hardly create any tremors within the Government or the Congress. Moreover, many senior ministers were upset at his penchant for running into controversies. This is after all not the first time that Tharoor dived headlong into controversies.

Though an accomplished writer who also has had a reasonably good stint as a diplomat at the United Nations, Tharoor showed remarkable immaturity in his short political career which began just before the general elections last year, in which he won the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket.

It all started with a report in The Indian Express in September last year that revealed that Tharoor and his senior minister in the Ministry of External Affairs S M Krishna were staying at a five-star hotel, and not at their official residences. Both the ministers had pleaded that they were paying the hotel bills out of their own pockets and were staying there only because their official residences were not ready. Both of them were asked to shift to more humble accommodations.

While Krishna, being an astute politician that he is, kept quiet after that, Tharoor repeatedly mocked the decision and went on to make his famous 'cattle class' comment -- asked on Twitter whether he would henceforth fly 'cattle class' in aeroplanes, he replied, "Yes, in cattle class out of solidarity with all our holy cows". That comment ridiculed the government's austerity drive, launched when the country faced a drought, and immediately made Tharoor extremely unpopular in the party and the government.

But that was just the beginning for Tharoor, whose constant updates on Twitter, even about official meetings, had started becoming extremely irksome for the government. Barely had the uproar over his 'cattle class' comment subsided, he shot his off mouth again, this time questioning the logic in having a holiday on Gandhi Jayanti.

More followed. He publicly differed with Home Minister P Chidambaram's efforts to tighten the visa regime in the wake of the David Headley affair and then was reported to have questioned the continuance of Nehruvian foreign policy in the country.

He was perceived to have exceeded his brief again when, travelling with the Prime Minister on a visit to Saudi Arabia, he suggested that Saudi Arabia could act as an 'interlocutor' between India and Pakistan. India has always been against any third party involvement in its bilateral issues with Pakistan, and Tharoor's statement was a clear deviation from New Delhi's stated foreign policy.

Sacrificing Tharoor would be like hitting two birds in one shot. The Government could abruptly end the IPL row and also please the Tharoor baiters within the Government and the Congress. In short, he was the ideal sacrificial goat.

DID HE LIE?

In the initial stages and his latest statement on Tuesday, Tharoor had been saying that he has only `blessed' the Kochi IPL team. In an official statement, he had said: "I am proud to have helped the consortium come to Kerala. I have neither invested nor received a rupee for my mentorship of the team. Whatever my personal relationships with any of the consortium members, I do not intend to benefit in any way financially from my association with the team now or at a later stage".

If so, how come Sunanda Pushkar, who is supposed to be a close friend as of now, got stakes in the IPL team worth a whopping Rs 70 crore?

IS THIS HIS JOB?

Tharoor-baiters say that as Minister of State Tharoor is doing everything except managing external affairs. Why should a minister be involved in promoting a team? Even if he was interested in promoting his State, he should be been above board in the matter. After blessing the move to have an IPL team for Kerala, he should have moved out of the scene. This is what some party men argue.

EXTERNAL AFFAIRS OR PERSONAL AFFAIRS

While Tharoor's friendship with Sunanda Pushkar may be a private affair, `traditionalists' in the Congress are upset at a third marriage of a high profile minister occupying political centre stage. The Opposition and the media are likely to dig some muck on Sunanda. Even if they were far from truth, the party will be forced to do some damage control. Nobody is ready to take on this role.

Tharoor was initially silent on the stakes held by his fiancée. All that he says is that a consortium led by Rendezvous was set up to bid for an IPL team. "They approached me for help and guidance. I steered them towards Kerala. Rendezvous includes a number of people, including many I have never met, and Sunanda Pushkar, whom I know well".

He further stated that "contemptible efforts have been made to drag in matters of my personal life which I do not intend to dignify by commenting on them."

WHO TOOK THE CALL

There are two versions on who took the call on Shashi Tharoor. One section in the Congress believes that it was Rahul Gandhi who told his mother to axe Tharoor from the ministry and end the controversy. Rahul Gandhi took the stand that the Government had better things to do rather than defend Tharoor in Parliament. The case was weak, and why spend steam trying to defend it?
Moreover, why give the Opposition a stick to beat the Congress?

Another version is that Pranab Mukherjee took a hard stand after going through the sweat equity clauses that favoured Sunanda Pushkar. He was upset at how a minister could support such clauses, some of which were unheard of in contract laws in India.

To add to the mess, Tharoor's aide Jacob Joseph has called IPL commissioner Lalit Modi a "convicted drug peddler", which furthered that Tharoor was entering deep and murky waters, which a Union Minister was well advised to keep away from.

Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor was asked to quit his post following intensive political pressure from opposition parties in India. According to TV reports, the MoS for the external affairs was asked to resign by PM Manmohan Singh. Apparently, the decision to ask Shashi Tharoor to resign was taken in the Congress core committee's meet.

The nearly two-hour meeting, held at the Prime Minister's House at 7, Race Course Road, was convened to decide the party's action on Tharoor's future in the government. The meeting discussed continuance of the minister in the wake of controversy over allotment of sweat equity of the value of Rs 70 crore to his friend Sunanda Pushkar by the IPL Kochi franchise. Earlier in the day, Tharoor met the prime minister for 50 minutes to present his side of the story over the IPL controversy involving him and close friend Sunanda Pushkar.

Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her political advisor Ahmed Patel, home minister P Chidambaram, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee and defence minister AK Antony were among those attending the meet. Party sources said Gandhi was unhappy over the entire development and leaders feel that Sunanda Pushkar's offer to return the sweat equity amounted to admission of guilt.

The Core Group is also believed to have discussed the damage wrought by the controversy to the government and the party and that a decision should be taken in a way that the party could face Parliament. Parliament was paralysed on Friday with the opposition demanding Tharoor's resignation. It had also given enough hints that it would continue to rock Parliament on the issue if Tharoor was not not sacked.

Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

C. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.

To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

PM Manmohan Singh, returning this afternoon from his visit to Brazil, is expected to take a decision on Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, who is in the mist of hell lot of controversies of his involvement in the Kochi IPL team bid and Sunanda Pushkar.

Reports say the Congress probe committee has found prima facie evidence of impropriety in the Kochi IPL deal. Meanwhile Congress leadership is also not convinced by Tharoor's explanations that he just helped his state Kerala to get an IPL team and that no monetary or personal interest were involved.

But the final judgment of his fate will be taken by the Prime Minister. Meanwhile PM is likely to hold meeting with Sonia Gandhi and senior Congress leaders later today. And so Congress wants to take a final decision on Tharoor before Parliament resumes on Monday. The issue had triggered uproar in both houses before it was adjourned on Friday.

A man detained for SMS threat to Tharoor

Earlier today Manik Verma (Nirmal Verma) was been detained by the police for suspicion of sending an SMS threat to minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor, police sources said. A police officer source said that, "We have picked up Manik Verma (Nirmal Verma) from west Delhi for questioning. He has not yet been arrested," since the police have not received any official complaint from the minister. "Tharoor has not approached us with any complaint. We are making investigations on our own," added the police officer.

The SMS asked Tharoor to apologize to Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi over the Kochi IPL team standoff. The SMS sender claimed himself a member of notorious Chhota Shakeel gang.

In the morning, Tharoor has reportedly written to the Union Home Ministry about the death threat, following which his security has been tightened. Jacob Joseph, the officer on special duty with the minister, told the media that Tharoor had received the SMS threat and the home ministry and police have been alerted. Meanwhile he did not disclose the SMS content.

Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor's security has been tightened following an SMS death threat received by him from Mumbai. The SMS is said to be from Chhota Shakeel of the notorious D Company. The threat was reportedly sent to an Officer on Special Duty attached to the union minister's office via SMS by the Dawood Ibrahim gang. The threat via SMS said: "Apologize to Lalit Modi. Drop the (Kochi) team, or die." The SMS is said to be from Chhota Shakeel of the D-Company. Tharoor has reportedly written to the Home Ministry about the death threat, following which his security has been tightened.

Tharoor is reportedly in trouble after IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi tweeted to reveal that Sunanda Pushkar, a close associate of Tharoor. had been gifted equity worth 70 cores in the new Kochi team which was sold for 1530 cores last month.

[Updates] - SMS Location traced

Intelligence agencies have traced the source of the threat SMS to Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor. A police team zeroed in on a west Delhi locality from where the SMS was sent.

Earlier in the day, security agencies went into a tizzy after the minister received a death threat through the SMS. Senior Delhi Police officers rushed to Tharoor's residence at Lodhi Estate and beefed up security.

Tharoor was whisked away to an undisclosed safe location for a while after receiving the threat. He however returned home soon with the intelligence agencies beginning investigation.

Sunanda Pushkar, who has been linked to the Kochi IPL team and Shashi Tharoor controversy, On Wednesday blasted her critics and denied acting as a proxy for her friend and Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor.

Pushkar accused the media of ignoring her professional background and international business experience and focusing "obsessively on my personal life as if a woman cannot be capable of professional or financial success." "My own business interests and assets are substantial, and efforts to besmirch Tharoor by presenting me as a proxy for him are personally insulting for me as a woman and as a friend. I have built up a respectable and successful career while coping with widowhood and raising a child as a single mother. Yet I have been reduced to a caricature in the media, portrayed with inaccuracies and falsehoods," she said.

The controversy erupted when Lalit Modi revealed the ownership pattern of Kochi IPL, stating that Pushkar, a friend of Tharoor, owned free equity in Rendezvous Sports, which is a part owner of IPL Kochi team. Modi also accused Tharoor of asking him not to reveal the ownership details, which is denied by Tharoor. Pushkar said she was approached last year by Rendezvous "inviting me to associate myself with them as a consultant in their various sporting activities and particularly in their potential bid to acquire the franchise of an IPL team."

She added: "I had previously been approached by Karim Morani of Kolkata Knight Riders to join them in a similar capacity and had regretted that the timing was not convenient for me. In view of my extensive international experience as a business executive, marketing manager and entrepreneur, I was invited to assist Rendezvous particularly in the areas of fund-raising, networking, elsewhere; event management; and brand building.

Because this is a start-up effort, I was told that in lieu of a salary they would grant me minor equity in Rendezvous in return for my efforts - which is a common practice across the world for start-ups and projects of this nature. I should stress that I have accepted no salary or expenses and am conscious that the equity remains only on paper for the foreseeable future. However, with the equity comes an opportunity to participate in the management and promotion of Rendezvous and in particular of its IPL team, a challenge I welcome."

She said she had "lived a life of integrity and committed no crime, yet I am treated in a humiliating manner. My parents, friends and family members have been hounded by intrusive journalists. My personal life is nobody else's business and if I have a marriage to announce, I will do it myself, rather than leave it to strangers. I would request the media to respect my privacy."

Happy and prosperous Vishu, Baisakhi, Bihu and Bisu greetings

Vishu is a festival celebrated in the state of Kerala in South India. The same day is also celebrated as New Year in several other parts of India such as Punjab (Baisakhi), Assam (Bihu), and Tulu Nadu region in Karnataka where it is known as Bisu as well as in Tamil Nadu. The festival marks the first day of Malayalam Year and falls in the month of Medam. Vishu generally falls on April 14th of the Gregorian calendar. But this time Vishu is on 15th April.

The most important event in Vishu is the Vishukkani, which literally " the first to be seen on the Vishu day". The Vishukkani consist of a ritual arrangement of auspicious articles like raw rice, fresh linen, golden cucumber, betel leaves, arecanut, metal mirror, the yellow flowers konna, and a holy text and coins, in a bell metal vessel called uruli in the puja room of the House. A lighted bell metal lamp called nilavilakku is also placed alongside. This arrangement is completed the previous night. On the day of Vishu, the custom is to wake up at dawn and go to the puja room with the eyes closed so that the Vishukkani is the first sight of the new season. Since the occasion marks the beginning of Malayalam New Year, it is also considered auspicious to read verses from Hindu Holy book Ramayanam after seeing the "Vishukkani". It is also believed that the page of the Ramayanam to which you open up will have a bearing on your life in the coming year. Devotees also throng the well-known temples like Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple, Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple to have a "Vishukkani Kazhcha" on the early hours of "Vishu" day.

Vishukani is an indispensable part of Vishu and the kani items will be normally comprised of:

1. Kanikonna, a yellow colour flower.
2. Fruits and vegetables like a bunch of tender mango with its leaves, coconut, Cashew and nut with its small branch and leaves, tender jackfruits commonly called idichakka, raw pineapple, golden coloured cucumber, bananas and other fresh vegetables according to its availability.
3. Yellow colour Kodi mundu, betel leaves, betel nut, kumkum or sindhoor in a small container, Bhagavad Gita, a small mirror with a tail (preferably Aranmula kannadi).
4. Elders gift firecrackers to children and every child. People wear new clothes (Puthukodi) for the occasion and elders of the family distribute tokens of money, called Vishukkaineetam, to children, servants and tenants.

Vishu is also a day of feasting, wherein the edibles consist of roughly equal proportions of salty, sweet, sour and bitter items (aviyal, sambar, thoran, pulissery, olan, etc.). Feast items include Veppampoorasam (a bitter preparation of neem) and Mampazhapachadi (a sour mango soup).

Various reports claimed that the Minister of State for External Affairs was intending to marry a Kashmiri trained as a beautician after divorcing his present Canadian wife.

Mean while Tharoor's close relatives declined to comment on the reports and said, Urging the media to respect his privacy. "He will announce whatever, when he has something to announce,". I would like to introduce myself as one of the members of the consortium that successfully bid for the Cochin IPL team in the recently concluded BCCI-IPL auction. As you might be already aware, the consortium members had signed the Franchise Agreement with IPL earlier today at ITC Gardenia, Bangalore. The Commissioner of IPL, Mr Lalit Modi, himself signed the agreement on behalf of BCCI-IPL.

I write this letter to you, on behalf of the consortium (consortium members have been cc'ed in this email), to request you to immediately look into a serious breach of trust that has occurred earlier today.

I would like to specifically draw your attention to clause 19.1 (Confidentiality clause) in the signed Franchise Agreement that concludes as follows:
19.1 The parties shall at all times treat this agreement as being private and confidential and its contents shall not be used for any purpose (other than the proper performance of this Agreement) or disclosed either directly or indirectly to any person except:

a) with the prior written agreement of both parties: or b) as may be required by any statutory, regulatory or governmental or quasi governmental authority, pursuant to the rules of any recognised stock exchange or as otherwise required by law

However, it is unfortunate to note that, Mr Lalit Modi himself, on his Twitter account has disclosed various vital aspects of the contract today evening (Please see attached document). Information disclosed include shareholding pattern of the consortium as well as shareholding patterns of various participating consortium member companies. Please note that, Mr. Modi, has not disclosed such information for the other nine teams participating in the league. In addition, we have been seeing various remarks by Mr. Modi in the media and on Twitter, questioning the capability and the intentions of this consortium.

We are shocked to see this unethical behaviour coming from the commissioner himself, even before 24 hours has come to pass after signing the agreement. As a consortium, we have abided by the terms and conditions of the bid document and franchise agreement in letter and spirit. Behaviour and actions as conducted by Mr. Modi brings complete disrespect to the sport, the IPL league, as well as to the sanctity of the bidding process.

On behalf of the consortium, I sincerely request you to immediately 1) instruct Mr Modi to retract the statements made in the media as well on Twitter, 2) reveal/ disclose similar information for all participating teams on his Twitter account, 3) apologise for the communications given in the media.

We, as a consortium are also contemplating to initiate legal action against Mr. Modi for this irresponsible behavior, which brings disrepute to his office.

We look forward to speedy action and justice on this subject.

Rendezvouz Sports and BCCI has today signed the franchisee agreement here putting to rest speculations that the IPL Kochi team will be scrapped. Rendezvous Sports World Ltd headed by Shailendra Gaikwad is a consortium of several businessmen and firms, including Parinee Developers Pvt. Ltd, Anchor Earth, Film Waves and Anand Shah Developers. IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, Kerala Cricket Association and Rendezvous had denied rumours that they had sold 25 per cent stake to unknown entities.

Meanwhile the consortium management is striving hard fetch up a brand ambassador who is likely to have a home ground connection. Bollywood stars John Abraham, Asin and Vidya Balan are being considered for the post. Breaking News - Earthquake strikes in Indian Ocean

The preliminary 6.4 earthquake hit at 10:23 p.m. local time, about 135 miles (217 km) from Port Blair, a city in the Andaman Islands, which is part of India. The epicenter was about 252 miles (406 km) from Pathein, Myanmar. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there is no threat of a destructive widespread tsunami, according to historical earthquake and tsunami data, though a "very small" possibility exists "of a local tsunami that could affect coasts" no more than 62 miles (100 km) from the epicenter, the warning center said.

According to a confidential e-mail sent to ad agencies today, facebook will replace "Become A Fan" button to read "Like" within the next few weeks. This new “Like” button will also be part of Facebook’s broader Open Graph API that will extend much of the Facebook Pages functionality anywhere on the web. Opera Mini for iPhone vs iPhone’s Safari browser

Opera Software company said that Apple should approve its Opera Mini Web browser for use on the iPhone, since because it is not "technically a browser" and thus doesn't compete with the iPhone's own browser, Safari. They added up saying so since because, Apple is known to reject apps if they duplicate native iPhone features, but Opera claims its Opera Mini app works differently from the iPhone's Safari.Once if approved by Apple then Opera Mini Web browser could be a new way to surf the Web on the iPhone. Opera Mini is renowned for its compression technology, which results in significantly faster Web-page loading and reduces data surcharges. With favorite desktop features in its arsenal, such as tabs, Speed Dial and the password manager, Opera Mini is designed with usability in mind.

What's new on Opera Mini for iPhone -

The Safari browser uses the webkit rendering engine, so it’s great at loading full HTML web pages. Where as Opera claims that they have interpretation of HTML and Javascript gets done on a distant server and not there on the device, This means that unlike Safari, Opera Mini 5 doesn't use the iPhone's processor to render Web pages. Where as instead, they send requests to Opera computer servers located around the world, And so these computers do the computational heavy lifting and then send back compressed versions of Web pages to be displayed in the Opera Mini app. For this reason, Opera Mini is not a Web browser, but "an enabler," said Forrester,an Opera presales engineer, in the recently over Mobile World Congress (MWC).

Two days back i posted about the two new IPL teams: Pune and Kochi which were added up to make the Indian Premier League (IPL) a 10-team affair from the 2011 season. Today i would like to share with my readers what Vivek spoke to the media on cricket and future plans of RSL. Vivek said that, There will be a minimum of four Malayalees in the Kochi-based IPL team, said Vivek Venugopal, the Malayalee face in the Rendezvous Sports Limited (RSL), that bought the team in the last IPL auction. He also said that RSL is planning to unveil new talents identified and selected from the district leavel along with seasoned campaigners. For this RSL will hold district-level camps.

Meanwhile Malayalam superstar Mohanlal added up that, It was a great thing to have Kochi’s representation in the Indian Premier League (IPL ). Mohanlal also said that, "Now since Kochi has a team in IPL, definitely we will support." Priyadarshan and Mohanlal had earlier expressed interest in bidding for a team in IPL, but backed out at the last moment due to the introduction of some changes in the bidding process.

Social-networking site Facebook surpassed Google to become the most visited website in the United States for the first time last week. Facebook’s homepage finished the week ending March 13 as the most visited site in the country, according to industry tracker Hitwise.

Google has been positioning challenges in recent months to Facebook and the micro-blogging site Twitter by adding the social-networking feature Buzz to its Gmail service.

This also clearly escalates battle between Facebook and Google, the leading social-networking service celebrated its sixth birthday earlier this year with changes including a new message inbox that echoes Gmail’s format. Facebook boasts some 400 million users while Gmail had 176 million unique visitors in December.

Earlier today i posted about the two newly added up teams to IPL. Soon after the news hit the media, many rumors where going on about the names of the both teams. Meanwhile while i came across this news in Deepika's website. According to a local daily newspaper website it says that, "Kochi centered team Kerala Cobras will be debuting the next IPL season. So far no other media has officially yet annouched or declared about it.

Rendezvous Sports Ltd won the bid over Kochi’s IPL team. The owner of the Kochi IPL team is Vivek Venugopal, a business man based in and out of Kerala. Shailendra Gaikwad of Rondevu group is also believed to be one of the main owner. Vivek Venugopal and Shailendra Gaikwad along with other 5 companies has formed a group called Kerala Consortium and has won the bid for 1533 Core rupees (approx. $333.33 million).
