The Count 1411-0 SOON!

As we all have studied in our lower classes, the tiger (Panthera tigris) is a member of the Felidae family, the largest of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera. Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. Reaching up to 3.3 meters (11 ft.) in total length and weighing up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds), the larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids. Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognizable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underpants. The most numerous tiger subspecies is the Bengal tiger while the largest subspecies is the Siberian tiger.

Oh my god!! Things have changed a lot. Now this species or the tiger is no longer willing to mate each other and soon we can kiss them good bye! 1411 is the present count of these beasts which our hunters and poachers are still making their best out of it to kill the whole damn count in the national valued numbers. I know you readers are of course tired of reading all this crap, TIGERS!! TIGERS!! TIGERS!! And the truth is that we all are fed of reading articles regarding tigers.

It’s been 40 years since we have declared, Tigers as the National Animal and for like more than 30 years it has been the umbrella under which many of our wildlife areas and species were to be protected. Though these animals cling to their existence, they are really and trust me REALLY closer to the edge of extinction now than before and with them, many other species, big and small!!

1411 is not at all large considering the population of so called drastically-optimized evils called the hunters and poachers who are keen in destruction of these species!! Yeah!! Yeah!! With so much attentions, committees, protectors, moneys, reports, blah blah!! WHY IS THE TIGER POPULATION STILL PLUMMETING??? Now that is the question to be answered before taking equipment’s and instructions and jumping out to save the little ones! Our NGO's, Scientists, Conservative bodies have put their true hearts to conserve these and save the tiger. Yet there is little we can do but WHERE THE HELL IS THE FOREST DEPARTMENT AND WHY ARE THEY KEEPING THEIR MOUTH SHUT????

Detector Gadgets 

Have you heard that now days the bomb and metal detectors used by the Indian Army is now marketed to find metal snares used by our great poachers to catch tigers, in the areas of  Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR). One of the wings of  WWF called Traffic India has armed DTR with four sophisticated Deep Search Metal Detectors to catch the poachers. These young gadgets are now giving hopes to the department like additional teeth to fight these poachers.


66 Gone Last Year

January 1 till August 19 in 2009 was the crucial point were our beautiful creatures lost their lives due to poaching and hunting!! 23 were killed due to snares installed under the woods by the poachers. The long list includes seizures of skins, bones, claws, skeletons, canines and paws by police and wild life authorities.
