The announcement came at a conference for Facebook developers called F8, in which Zuckerberg revealed that the world’s largest social networking site has 400 million registered users. These include 100 million who use Facebook Connect, the company's online identity technology that allows users to use their profile on thousands of other websites.
A month ago, Facebook surpassed Google to become the most-visited US website, and the new tools announced by Zuckerberg should help it extend that dominance, called Open Graph, a new technology that helps in transformative thing on web. This technology will allow partner sites to leverage the user's social connections to make the site more relevant to the individual and their social network.
For example, a Facebook users who visit CNN can see the stories their Facebook friends liked. If they listen to the music streaming service Pandora, the songs they like can automatically be fed to their networks. This feature includes a "like button" that partner sites can embed and which will allow Facebook users to rate the content. He predicted that in the first 24 hours of the technology going live the new buttons would be used over 1 billion times.

Facebook is scaling back on the word "Fan" and usage of "Like" on brand pages. According to a confidential e-mail sent to ad agencies today, facebook will replace "Become A Fan" button to read "Like" within the next few weeks. This new “Like” button will also be part of Facebook’s broader Open Graph API that will extend much of the Facebook Pages functionality anywhere on the web. "'Like" offers a simple, consistent way for people to connect with the things they are interested in. This will make more connections across the site, including with your branded Facebook Pages.

Facebook earlier today tweeted "Delete emails asking u to open an attachment to get a new Facebook password. They're fake and not from us" against the spoofed email going around.
According to McAfee, if a user tends to open such a mail with has attach to it, since that appears to be very convincing, and the “From:” field can even be spoofed to include “Facebook” or “The Facebook Team.” The user actually installs a password stealer that can “potentially access any username and password combination utilized on that computer.”

Facebook is a social networking website where users can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, and school or college. It began at Harvard University in Boston, quickly spread to others schools in the US, and then took off to throughout the rest of the world. And I mean quickly: The success of Facebook is virtually unparalleled in the history of business, at least in terms of the number of users it has. And so if Facebook were a country, it would be the third largest in the world with a population of more 400 million people.
