Kochi IPL team a reality now

Rendezvouz Sports and BCCI has today signed the franchisee agreement here putting to rest speculations that the IPL Kochi team will be scrapped. Rendezvous Sports World Ltd headed by Shailendra Gaikwad is a consortium of several businessmen and firms, including Parinee Developers Pvt. Ltd, Anchor Earth, Film Waves and Anand Shah Developers. IPL commissioner Lalit Modi, Kerala Cricket Association and Rendezvous had denied rumours that they had sold 25 per cent stake to unknown entities.

Meanwhile the consortium management is striving hard fetch up a brand ambassador who is likely to have a home ground connection. Bollywood stars John Abraham, Asin and Vidya Balan are being considered for the post. While a non-verified Twitter account impersonating Actor Mammooty tweets “i thnk frm next yr i 2 will be there to watch the ipl as there is an upcomin team frm kochi i wld try 2 be its ambassador”
